I know that I have self control considering I have overcome other and worse addictions just fine, one being to stop smoking cigarettes. Luka Zimmerman asked:

Low carb diet by Dr. Atkins continues as possibly one of the most accepted low carb diets on the market today. Low carbohydrate, high protein Atkins diet attractiveness has helped spring numerous similar diets who operate on the same values of high-protein, low-carbohydrate eating diet. Nowadays people who want to lose weight have a lot of high protein diets to choose from.

Tests have verified that high-protein, low-carbohydrate intake has numerous good effects as well as create considerable fat burning with no need to limit calories. Lots of people who make use of the low carb, high protein diet invented by Dr. Atkins have for a long time been reporting this effect. There are studies that show that low carbohydrate eating improves triclycerides, lowers blood sugar for diabetics and people with beginning diabetes and boosts good cholesterol (HDL). Low carb, high protein diet plan has been continuously confirmed to enhance insulin sensitivity, decrease blood pressure and cut blood insulin levels. If we judge it against diets low in fat, high protein, low carb dieters also lose a reduced amount of muscle mass.

Although not medically proven, there are numerous various positive effects testified by people on low-carb, high-protein diet by Dr.Atkins. Some of these include energy increase, reduced longing for candys, enhanced attentiveness, improved temper and decrease of depression kind of signs.

If you are one of countless people who have been trying to lose weight with low fat diets in previous years you will get pleasure from eating all of those forbidden foods that once you could not touch. Butter, steak and cream are a regular element of low carb diet devised by Dr. Atkins. Many people enjoy eating foods once off limits to them. People on high protein diet devised by Dr. Atkins are permitted to consume their full of rich meats, cheeses and fats and oils.

Diet invented by Dr. Atkins is also undemanding to make use of if compared with majority of other protein high diets that are on the market today. There are a few of simple carbohydrate calculations that you are going to need to learn, but when you do that, you are going to be free to have a meal of any food you want from the acceptable food listing.

Dr. Atkins furthermore emphasized the need of finding your own individual carb level. Various individuals have unique degree of carbohydrate tolerance. While some of us put on weight on just 90 grams of carbs per day, other people can eat as many as 120 grams of carbs daily. During your ongoing dieting phase and pre-maintenance stage of the low carbohydrate, high protein diet by Dr.Atkins, you will ascertain your individual carb count that is going to help you establish your carb goal from now on.

The status of high-protein, low-carb diet devised by Dr. Atkins can even be a double-edged sword for the anyone trying to lose weight with it. Given that there is plenty of tips accessible about the low carbohydrate Dr. Atkins diet, which makes it simple to get resources and support, but can at the same time confuse you. There have been scores of Atkins books written and furthermore there are infinite amounts of websites that provide you with group support, information and tips. However nearly everyone has heard of diet by Dr. Atkins and almost has his or her own outlook about it. You need to be aware that there are scores of misconstructions around the world regarding the features of the Atkins diet, and you are going to, without a doubt, have to stand up for your newly discovered eating technique from time to time.

There are also some of the other downsides for using the high-protein, low-carb Atkins diet. You should count carbs in every piece of food you eat to be assured that you are keeping within your individual carbohydrate boundary. Additionally, there is the matter of Induction, the most intensely contested phase of the plan. Induction can be tough to come through if you have been on a diet that centers on carbs and sugar. Moreover, loads of individuals have a go at Induction and mistakenly judge that this is the method that the whole diet will be. They quit without even starting the genuine diet by Dr.Atkins.

Every now and then even if it does not occur very often, some individuals are going to live through a carbohydrate crash frequently during the 3rd and up to 5th day of the Dr. Atkins diet. Such sort of reaction is a result of their body experiencing the ketosis phase or using fat as fuel instead of carbs. The sensation is short-lived but lots of people trying to lose weight have sworn off high-protein, low-carbohydrate diets entirely because of this small accident.

Overall, with the few trivial shortcomings considered, high-protein, low-carbohydrate diet invented by Dr. Atkins continues to be one of the most used high protein diets because of one simple reason. It works. A lot of people have succeeded with the high protein, low carbohydrate diet by Dr.Atkins and the high-protein, low-carbohydrate approach to dieting.

The Diabetes Type II Diet: Selecting Your Best Options

Flor Serquina asked:

It’s challenging to design a diabetes Type II diet that is sensible and healthy and comes as close as possible to being a “normal” diet. By “normal” we mean something that is familiar and as appetizing as most people’s standard fare. If you’ve been diagnosed with Type II diabetes, the first thing your doctor will probably advise you to do is to change your diet.

If you have diabetes, everything you eat and drink should be part of your recommended meal plan. Otherwise, you risk developing complications or health risks due to a blood sugar count that is either too low or too high. When you have diabetes, it’s often a case of ensuring balance in your life – physical activity, weight range, blood sugar and yes, a well-balanced diet.

The Food Pyramid

The diabetes food pyramid is divided into 6 food groups. These food groups are outlined below, starting at the top, which makes up the smallest portion of the pyramid and ending with the bottom, which should contain the largest portions in a diet plan. The recommended servings per day are enclosed in parentheses:

Sweets, fats and alcohol (small servings only, preferably reserved for very special occasions).

Meat and meat substitutes including tofu (4 to 6 oz).

Milk (2 to 3 servings).

Fruit (2 to 4 servings).

Vegetables (3 to 5 servings).

Grains (6 to 11 servings) and starchy vegetables (3 to 5 servings).

The South Beach Diet

The South Beach diet has been popularized and promoted by many weight loss gurus because it is quite effective in helping people lose and maintain weight. For people with Type II diabetes, however, the South Beach diet may not always be effective. Experts cite its adverse effects on people who have problems with their kidney functions. If you’re considering using the South Beach diet and you have Type II diabetes, you may want to consult your doctor first. The South Beach diet may not be a good diet plan to follow especially if you have impaired kidney functions caused by diabetes.

The Caveman Diet

A rather extreme form of diet that some people are recommending is the caveman diet or the Stone Age diet. It is argued that diabetes didn’t seem to plague cavemen and that majority of the foods included in the caveman diet are similar to the foods recommended for diabetes.

Consider, for example, the fact that refined grains and sugars were nonexistent and that fat was not taken in large amounts. Other foods associated with obesity (and therefore contributory to Type II diabetes), such as salt, hydrogenated fats, vegetable oils and even milk were also not readily available. What was present was high fiber and fresh, all natural fruits, meats and vegetables.

While this diet may seem a little strange, it is not totally without sense. What it promotes is the use of fresh foods and natural fiber, along with minimal intake of refined or processed sugars carbohydrates and oils. In other words, use a simple but healthful diet plan to help combat the effects of Type II diabetes.

Looking for a Diabetes Diet Plan

The best way to ensure that you follow the recommended portion and that you eat only the recommended foods for Type II diabetes is to work with a dietitian or nutritionist. This is especially important if you are pregnant. Pregnancy may require special diets, especially if you’re diabetic.

However, there are certain sources for free diet plans you can use, perfect if you’re looking for a way to maintain a diet on a daily basis. The American Diabetes Association website has plenty of information about Type II diabetes diet along with a list of foods that may be included on a menu. Diabetes Educators also has a website where you’ll find plenty of free recipes, diet plans and recommended food portions.

Putting a Diet Plan into Practice

Just because you have this condition doesn’t mean you should stop living an active, healthy life. You will have to deal with certain restrictions, however, but with conscientious maintenance and a good diet, there is no reason why you should be limited by your condition.

Following a recommended and sensible diabetes Type II diet will take some effort on your part, especially if you’re used to a more lenient lifestyle. However, remember that maintaining a sensible diet is important to help you live a healthy and productive life. Use the resources and information that you already have and look for extra help if you need it. Controlling this health problem is possible and only you can make sure of that.

Celebrity Diet Secrets – Is the South Beach Diet One of Them?

Allan Johns asked:

The South Beach Diet is well known for being followed by many celebrities and is frequently linked to other low-carb diets, most of which have received considerable bad press.

It is important whilst following the South Beach Diet that you follow the basic rules of the program to ensure that you lose weight and maintain good health. Most importantly, if you want to achieve success, you must make sure you consume the right types and amounts of carbohydrates and fats.

Celebrity Diets that work like The South Beach diet have been shown to lower cholesterol levels and some claims have even been made that the diet can also reduce the risk of diabetes and heart disease.

One of the side effects of dieting is often the development of food cravings. However, followers have said that eating this way eliminates food cravings because you don’t feel hungry while on the South Beach Diet.

Losing weight whilst adhering to any weight loss program takes quite a bit of motivation and determination and the South Beach Diet is no different. Make sure you commence the diet with a positive mental attitude and you will get you off to a good start.

As well as losing weight, learning to eat healthily on the South Beach Diet plan and discovering which are the good carbs and fats, will help you to care for your heart too.

The Diet Plan is not a low-fat, low carb diet like so many of the other high profile diet fads and whilst on the South Beach Diet you will discover that not all carbohydrates and fats are bad for you.

Learning how to eat the right sort of carbohydrates and fats is key to making this program work for you. Eating the right proportion of “good” carbohydrates and fats will take some getting used to but will quickly become second nature.

Weight loss is often rapid in the first two weeks of following the South Beach Diet program and you can expect weight loss of up to 13lbs. However, things soon start to slow down and you must remember this is entirely normal and not start to worry that you are doing it wrong.

Realistically, it is possible to achieve long-term weight loss as opposed to just losing weight in the short term when you stick with this special eating plan.

Celebrity Diet Secrets like the South Beach Diet, when correctly followed, is highly effective at ridding your body of excess weight whilst also keeping you healthy and improving your well-being.

Although it is similar to the Atkins diet in that it works in stages, the South Beach Diet program could really be said to be a lifestyle rather than an actual diet. By following the plan, you will eat three meals and two additional each day, taken from the flexible meal planner that comes with the program.

To help you achieve your weight loss goal whilst on the diet program you should first write down how much weight you would like to lose. The written goal should then be placed somewhere highly visible so that it can act as a constant reminder of why you are on the diet.

To avoid temptation, rid your home of any forbidden foods before starting the South Beach Diet to help you stick to the plan.

Drinking lots of water serves two purposes whilst on most diets. Firstly, it will help you to feel fuller and secondly, it will help to flush any toxins in your body that may be released as a result of following the diet plan.

It is important, regardless of whether you are following a diet program, that you make the time to fit exercise into your schedule. Regular exercise, as well as improving your fitness levels, will help to speed up your weight loss.

It’s hard to stay motivated all the time and you may occasionally slip up when on the diet. If this happens, don’t be tempted to give up. The South Beach Diet works so simply pick up where you left off and you’ll soon start to see the weight dropping off once more.

Some celebrities on the South Beach Diet program include people like Bill and Hillary Clinton and Bette Midler.

Dorothy K asked:

I eat everything in moderation as it is, so don’t give me that advice. I already follow a diabetic diet because its the only one I’ve found that has good guidelines of what foods go together and are low in fat and sugar. Now it appears that I might need to find some that are lower in sodium? I also need to find some that are know to actually reduce inflammation. I tried the Schwarzbein diet, but I couldn’t stay on that forever!
